OB/GYN
Two groups of highly trained and experienced physicians make up our Obstetrics and Gynecology practices. Our physicians in Manhattan (NYC) deliver at Roosevelt Hospital located at 59th Street and 10th Avenue, which was selected as "one of the top 10 hospitals in the country in which to give birth" - Fit Pregnancy, December/January 2003. The physicians deliver in the traditional maternity ward.
Each group of physicians has its own office location. Both groups share similar practice philosophies and management styles.
As a patient, you choose a primary OB/GYN physician from one of the two groups to provide your prenatal care. On a rotating basis, each of that group's physicians provides labor and delivery. This means that you have an equal chance of being delivered by any one of the group's physicians.
Because of this group management rotation approach to labor and delivery, the physicians are never forced to spread themselves between patients in the office and patients in labor. We believe this is the only way to be certain that each patient receives optimal care both in the office and in labor and delivery.
Some patients are anxious about being delivered by someone whom they may not have seen very often during their prenatal care. This is one of the reasons we encourage you to get to know all of the physicians during your pregnancy. In the last trimester, we recommend that you rotate your prenatal appointments through the other physicians so that you have the opportunity to meet them all.
Our physicians work closely together and communicate daily to assure that everyone in our practice is familiar with any special considerations or complications regarding patients' pregnancies.
